Respiratory syncytial virus(RSV), the flu, and COVID-19 are three of many respiratory viruses that can affect children of all ages. With the CDC recently approving treatments that work like an immunization for RSV, the treatment will now be part of care through the primary medical home.
Kids Health First understands that we will need to provide the support necessary as you work through this new process. We have developed an RSV Toolkit which is now available. This toolkit is similar to what was provided for COVID-19 and vaccines. We will ensure you have the latest updates and information related to the delivery of care. Please check back often as information changes and evolves.
Joining both the OB-GYNs and the birthing hospitals in offering treatments, as collaborators in care, we will be able to prevent serious complications from RSV in children, which is the most common reason for hospitalization of newborns and infants under the age of one, and of older more-at-risk children.
