Human Resources are one of the most important assets of an organization. Kids Health First supports your  human resource  needs by providing timely and relevant information.

Through various KHF and TCCN programs, participating practices have access to HR resources and assistance.

  • If you are a member of the TCCN Health Insurance Program you have access to Mineral (formerly ThinkHR).
  • If you are a member of the KHF or TCCN Malpractice Program with Curi, you  have access to HR On Call and the HR Portal, ZyWave. Staffed by certified HR experts, CURI  is your one-stop shop for many of  your human resources needs

In addition to an HR handbook, this service provides answers to questions around legal matters and compliance regulations/issues. Sample job descriptions and  HR training resources are also available through this site.

Annual HR Resources Checklist/Calendar 2025

As part of our pediatric business support resources, we have developed an annual calendar/checklist for Human Resources Compliance. This document provides you with a monthly listing of requirements and reminders, as well as official government documents such as tax forms. The document also includes a year-end reminder to participate in the annual benchmark surveys at the start of 2025.

Announcement April 21, 2025: Governor Brian Kemp signs medical liability tort-reform measures  into law

Two sweeping medical liability tort‑reform measures were  championed alongside the Medical Association of Georgia and our legal partners. These twin bills redraw the litigation landscape for every hospital, practice, and provider in the state.

Here's what you need to know at a glance:

  • SB 68: Brings broad changes to how lawsuits, particularly personal injury ones, are handled in Georgia.
  • SB 69: Regulates third-party litigation funding (when outside companies fund lawsuits in exchange for a cut of the money if the case wins).

To read the two bills in full and to fully understand the implications on your practice, click here to learn more.

Mandatory Reporting Guidelines May 2025

Georgia State law OCGA 19-7-5 states that all physicians, registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are deemed mandatory child abuse reporters. This means if you have reasonable cause to believe that suspected child abuse has occurred, you are required by law to report such abuse.

All new employees of KHF will receive training on mandatory reporting and retraining as appropriate.

The following are two web based training sites that offer this training free of charge:

You may also refer to the KHF handbook which provides information on mandatory reporting.

Credentialing Recommendations for Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers/May 2025

Medical practices must have a system in place for credentialing their providers when initially hired and routinely thereafter.

While KHF assists in tracking licenses for credentialed physicians, it does not track licenses for Advanced Practice Providers (PAs and NPs).

Tips for Retaining Employees in 2024 (July 2024)

Around 27% of U.S. workers quit their jobs in 2023, which, according to a common turnover calculation, cost employers nearly a trillion dollars to replace. Unfortunately, turnover is expected to climb this year, and labor experts predict another form of the “Great Resignation” to take place as workers choose to leave their jobs.

Employee retention remains a critical challenge this year for employers across industries. A LinkedIn survey found that 85% of workers plan to look for a new role in 2024, which is almost a 20% jump from the previous year. The trend particularly applies to younger generations, including Generation Z, millennials and Generation X.

While today’s workers see both the possibilities and risks of job or career changes, many are choosing to explore new opportunities and leave their current employers. To learn more about how employers can help retain employees, click here to read this article.
